Temu's advertising spending rose by 1,000% in 2023, with a focus on social media and high-profile events, setting the stage for another groundbreaking year 2024. As you can see in the graph, Temu is now as dominant in auction performance as Amazon!

By expanding its offering for American and European sellers, Temu is diversifying its marketplace and facing global competition. Starting in March, the low-cost marketplace will open its doors to American sellers, followed by European sellers. To date, the more than 100,000 sellers on Temu came exclusively from China, with logistics, pricing and marketing being centrally controlled by Temu. Now, non-Chinese sellers can set their own prices and shipping of their products and take their marketing into their own hands. This move intensifies Temu's competition with Amazon and is in line with our conviction: “Temu will be the biggest global threat to Amazon in 2024!”
