On July 28th, Amazon announced its second quarter results. We are all excited to see how the numbers have developed since the last time. 

In a nutshell – the most important quarterly figures:

  • Amazon generated revenues of $121.2 billion in Q2.
  • This results in a recorded net loss of $2 billion.
  • The loss per share was $0.20.
  • Advertising revenue increased by 18% to $8.76 billion and is now the fourth largest revenue category for Amazon.

Despite the mixed year Amazon’s advertising business is, weathering turbulent times with inflation and war, better than its competitors.

Amazon’s advertising services segment increased revenue by 18% year-over-year to $8.76 billion in the second quarter, according to its earnings release. Meaning that even though the demand for advertising services decreased, Amazon still manages to overcome this crisis.
