During the Covid-19 pandemic over 1 million animals moved into a new home, a trend that still continues.

On Amazon DE, about 3.6 million orders were placed in this category in Q1 & Q2 2022.

The main volume in orders is generated by cat (43%) and dog (34%) food.

Interestingly, dogs make a higher revenue (42%) than cats (37%) due to the higher average price. 

There are many different brands in this category, none of them really outstanding or leading the market.

So there is still potential to climb that ladder.
